Last October, leading general insurer, Fortis (Insurance, UK) announced the recruitment of 550 people in the company's Gloucester, Eastleigh and Stoke regions over the next year, as a result of two significant new business wins with Tesco Bank and Toyota (GB) PLC.
With the New Year now in full swing and people looking for a fresh start, Fortis has launched its recruitment campaign to get the new recruits in place by the summer. As a result of the company's growth plans, the following roles are being created:
- Actuarial, underwriting and finance specialists
- Compliance, Risk and legal specialists
- Claims specialists including personal injury, engineers and claims development
- Human Resources
- Team leaders and controllers
- Support and administration
To house the new teams in the company's Gloucester office, Fortis is in the process of building a new three storey (11,000 square foot) extension onto the existing office in Gloucester Business Park, which was opened by Fortis in the summer of 2007.

The award-winning general insurer, renowned in the industry for exceptional customer service levels, will handle motor and household insurance for Tesco Bank's 1.5 million customers and provide branded motor insurance products to Toyota GB's 1.3 million UK customer base.
